Posing Tips


As your wedding photographer, one of the essential aspects of my job is to guide my clients through the process of posing for wedding photos. Posing can feel awkward for some couples, but with my expertise and direction, I can help you to look natural, relaxed, and radiant in front of the camera. Here are some posing tips:


  1. Be Yourselves: I will encourage you to be authentic and genuine during the photo shoot. These pictures are a celebration of your love and relationship, so being yourself will result in the most beautiful and meaningful photos.
  2. Practice Makes Perfect: You can practise some poses together before the wedding day. This can be a fun and bonding experience that will help you to feel more comfortable when it's time for the actual shoot. I do offer Engagement shoots with most of my packages to help you familiarise yourselves with the posing.
  3. Show Affection: Hold hands, embrace, and exchange loving glances. Capturing these intimate moments will add emotion and depth to the photographs.
  4. Natural Movement: Avoid stiff poses. Instead, focus on natural movement. Walking hand in hand or taking a leisurely stroll can create beautiful, candid shots that reflect your connection.
  5. Engage with Each Other: Engage with each other rather than looking directly at the camera in every shot. I'll prompt you to share stories, jokes, or secrets to elicit genuine emotions and reactions.
  6. Relax Your Shoulders: Many people tend to tense up their shoulders when being photographed. Relaxing your shoulders, will make you appear more at ease and confident.
  7. Chin and Posture: I will suggest that you elongate your necks slightly and bring chins slightly forward to avoid appearance of a double chin. Good posture can also make a significant difference in how the photos turn out.
  8. Focus on Emotions: Focus on the emotions you're feeling rather than worrying about how you ook. Genuine emotions will shine through in the photographs and create truly memorable images.
